Practice and Explore: Streaming and Timing and Rhythm

Practices include SURF and empathic listening, the 5 Elements, beginning to shape your commitment. You are invited to incorporate SURF, 5 Elements practices, and somatic journaling daily.

The Responsible Self: Grounded Vision, Commitment and Trajectory

We are most powerful when we are ignited by what we care about and putting that out into the world. We organize around one simple question: “What do you care about?” The feelings and emotions that illuminate your answer become the springboard for self-growth, empowerment, and healthy relationships. Practices include SURF and empathic listening with a resource at your back, exploring a Moment of Ignition, & continuing to shape your commitment.

Practice and Explore: S.U.R.F., 5 Elements, Should/Choose

Practices include SURF, 5 Elements, exploring the experience of "should" and "choose to" in the body, and moving to Wind in the challenger/receiver role play. You are invited to continue your daily practice and journal about what you are noticing from the practices and exploring the quality of "joy."

S.U.R.F. Centering, Self Resourcing, Commitments

Explore A Moment of "Ignition" and your personal commitment in an empathic listening field, SURF, and Core Strategies. Learn tips for Somatic Journaling.

Shape Shifting and Inner Consensus

Shape-Shifting training develops “somatic impressions” — body/mind understandings — qualities of being that, over time, reveal the source of our deep needs, providing opportunities for profound insight and self-growth. It combines visualization, physical and linguistic features, forming a daily practice for managing feelings of being overwhelmed, listening with empathy, and for harmonizing conflict. Inner consensus is a deeply empathic listening process for unifying our inner resources, centering and empowering our choices, words, and actions.

The Spiral Blend

Getting out of our own way and allowing empathy to extend to ourselves and others.

Bonus Session: Somatic Journaling with Judith Weinstock

Learn simple writing practices and prompts to support self-exploration, as well as opportunities to intersect practices you have already learned in this training with the practice of writing toward cultivating joy in journaling as a daily somatic practice. This will be a one hour session.

Somatic Autobiography: From Reaction to Resource

This practice is to foster an attitude of curiosity toward historical patterns in your behavior, to investigate these aspects of your life, and in time to learn to understand them. This leads to greater respect, honor, and appreciation of your history and reveals resources for healing and for having more compassion for others.

Collaborative Exploration: NVC Basics with Somatics

Nonviolent Communication is both a simple set of skills and a lifelong practice for cultivating deeply connective relationships. Somatic Consensus’ somatic approach to NVC is a whole body/mind practice and art. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a practice, a consciousness and in its fullness a lifelong learning path. In this course, I will bring an overview of this body of work, touch on its history, share its basic principles and offer some experiential practices that give a somatic sense of this art and discipline.

Rhythm, Space, Virtues

The more relaxed we are, the more aware we can be. The more we can feel, the more our emotions can point us towards what we care about. We transmit our state of being. When we are relaxed and present with others, those around us relax and respond in kind. This session is a distillation of NVC, a simple practice that brings living Nonviolent Communication into relationships over the long term.

S.U.R.F.I.N.G. Meditative Practice

Here we will move through different centers in our bodies, being curious and appreciative, notice any places where you feel emotional or physical discomfort. By learning to tolerate our own feelings with love and patience, we can increase our capacity for graciousness and dignity with others. Facing an experience in a relaxed, centered, balanced, and intuitive way. we can engage it synergistically, which will move us faster and farther than we might ever go alone.

Somatic Observations and the Signals We Give

Words convey a great deal; however, presence is where we radiate and transmit our whole being. Training our senses somatically increases the ability to listen and feel the rhythms within and around us. Over time, as training becomes more embodied, the underlying currents and cues in all interactions can become more deeply felt.

This session introduces 7 qualities - care, courage, curiosity, centering, creativity, confidence, and commitment - that support the journey towards the embodiment of an art. The focus here is on a way to cultivate skillful vulnerability that supports us feeling safe, resourced and empathic. This practice allows the intelligence of our hearts, intuition, and mind to work in consensus to guide our words, choices, and actions.

All Our Relations

In this session we engage a practice that reminds us viscerally that we are not alone. There is always much to support us, no matter what we may think. We will explore how empathy can connect to all those around us, past and present in any given moment, with the teachers in your life, the great teachers on this planet past and present, all the wisdom contained in your genetic cellular history back to the beginning of life.

Leadership Qualities

In the session we will explore practices for organizing and empowering word and action by grounding ourselves in NVC consciousness. Leadership qualities such as honesty, integrity, humility, acceptance, empathy are learnable states of being. When you know deeply what matters and what you care about and you move from that place, you can powerfully lead yourself and others. Much of what we express is non-verbal. When words and action come out of an internal consensus, when we are deeply moved by the life that course through and around us, we can effect life affirming change based in loving protection for all.

The Practice of Community

In this session we will look at essential elements and pratices for healthy community to emerge within and around us. Just as in our lives a stage is never reached where we can say that we have finished studying life, there is always more to learn about what Community is. The daily tasks in community life at its most basic levels reminds us of our direction and purpose, renews our self esteem and affirms that our desire for community and connection is possible. It is the opportunity for comprehensive interaction, responsibility, and commitment.
